You might find that it requires more than one minute from the time you launch SAS Financial Management Studio release 5.1 until the Log On window appears. During that time, only the SAS Financial Management splash screen is displayed.
The delay occurs because SAS Financial Management Studio is trying to locate the SAS website DNS for internal verification.
As a workaround, update the hosts file on the client machine and add the following site information:
127.0.0.1 www.sas.comThis should help resolve the delay.
The hosts file is typically located at:
<drive>:\WINNT\system32\drivers\on the client workstation.
This issue is marked as fixed in release 5.2 of SAS Financial Management.
